Black Heidi

Black Heidi is a South African singer-songwriter and ukulele player whose warm, soulful voice and genre-blending sound move easily between blues, rock, soul and indie. Born in Mafikeng and raised across the North West, she began writing songs in primary school but officially stepped onto the scene in 2020 after learning how to play the ukulele and performing at open-mics around Pretoria. 

Since then, she’s become one of South Africa’s most magnetic live performers, captivating crowds with raw honesty, powerful vocals, and a 4

-piece band that fuses groove and heart in equal measure.

Her most popular song "I'm Fine" was released in January of 2024 and has been surfing South African radio airwaves since and peaked at number 1 on the 5fm 5 Nights Indie charts, along with another single called "Bullfrog". Her debut album, Sunshine's Bright Shiny Beam (released October 2025) is out now and features singles "Morati" and "You Are The Man". The record explores love, faith, and identity with fearless vulnerability and soulful energy.
